Therapy support to heal emotional pain, minimize stress, improve mood and live more connected, whole lives.
My Services
I provide support to adult individuals and couples who are are facing challenges with relationships, stress, self-esteem, LGBTQ+ issues, anxiety or depression. My focus is to build a trusting foundation to safely explore those issues that are causing distress. Working with empathy, non-judgment, and compassion and harnessing client strengths, we work through emotional processes and experiences to heal, feel grounded and connect with self and loved ones. I share ways to manage unhelpful thoughts, harness and heal emotions, and take positive actions towards living happier, healthier and more whole lives.
I am a social worker, registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I have a lengthy public safety background and am trauma-informed, client-centered and holistic in my approach. I draw from a range of models, including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and more. I love collaborating with clients so that they can feel understood, nurtured and enjoy enhanced well-being.
In Person Sessions
I am conveniently located in beautiful downtown Kingston in an office suite with other mental health professionals.
Virtual Sessions
You can access therapy from the comfort of your own home. Virtual and telephone sessions are available throughout all of Ontario during weekdays and some evenings.
The moment that you start to wonder if you deserve better, you do.
Active Therapy
Walk and Talk sessions can be a great option for those who like to spend time outdoors. They offer a more physically active option, which can help you get “unstuck” when confronting complex issues. Getting outdoors allows you to tap into your creativity and deeper thinking, which can occur with mood-improving physical activity. Being in natural environments also promotes relaxation and a sense of wellbeing. Depending on client preferences, walk and talk sessions can include a combination of traditional counselling, eco-therapy, and mindfulness practices.
Walk and Talk settings in the Kingston and surrounding area are quieter, lower traffic paths that are generally considered easy to navigate for most people. In cases where weather conditions are hazardous, sessions are moved to on-line or by phone. These may not be right for you if you experience physical health challenges that limit your ability to walk for up to one hour in length.
*Please call Holly to discuss when and where this option is available, and whether it is the right approach for you!
